Scenes from a storm, plus a Fetching

Nathan's teacher today had mentioned to him that the monsoons were coming back. We thought they were too, but not until Wed. Well at 2:30pm this afternoon they started back up. I was about to go outside and check the mail, got the keys and looked out the kitchen window. I thought I was hearing something, it sounded like rain. Well, it was rain and about a metric ton of it came down. We stood outside on the patio for a few minutes until the rain got us even though we were 10 ft from the outside of the house. We all go inside and I ask Nick if his windows were rolled down. He got this look of horror on his face and books it outside to go get his windows up. Normally both of our cars would be in the garage but he was doing some summer cleaning so it was outside. LOL.

You also know your car needs to be washed when you purposely pull it out of the garage to make sure that it gets "washed". The van looks 10 times better now. I'm good until the monsoons are officially over. Every time I was going to wash it in the last few weeks it started raining.

Yesterday was the Stitch n Pitch game at the Diamondbacks. I don't know if everyone in the group wants their picture on the WWW, so I won't be including our group picture. We all had a really good time, but damn is it hot in those upper level seats. I started a pair of Fetchings in Malabrigo while I was there.

Normally I wouldn't have cast on something new, but I didn't have anything else to work on and that seemed nice and perfect. I got a few inches up in the pattern and just finished that first Fetching this afternoon during the storm. I haven't made the thumb yet, but I think I'm going to do them at the same time once I get done with the second one. I'm not really sure when I'm going to be starting that second one. I plan to cast on for a pair of Charades tonight so that I'm ready to go for my airplane knitting on Wednesday. I'm going to Hendersonville, NC for Elisabet and Courtney's wedding on Friday. I'm pretty excited to see green things, I guess they are called grass and trees. I've never eaten food from that region of the US and I'm excited to try all of the culinary goodness that they have to offer. I've been emailing Elisabet today as they are already in NC. I'm so excited for the two of them and can't wait to be a part of their celebration.

Hah! I thought about moving my car outside for a rinse too. I was at the game, didn't see you. Too bad. It's been a long time. Thank goodness for blogging :-)
