Last night's scrapbooking extravaganza!!

I can't believe how much I got done, especially for not being able to preplan very much. I have four layouts to show everyone, plus one more two pager that I'm not quite done with yet. Andrea and I had a blast, but I'm so tired this morning, but it is worth it.

1st layout: One of the cousins layouts that I did.
two boys and a girl

2nd layout: Another cousins layout

3rd layout: Bubbles

4th layout: Sponge painting

I can't believe how productive last night made me feel. Now I have to put away all of the stuff that I hauled out, that will take me the rest of the weekend.

First knitting project is done

For better or worse, it was a learning experience. Even though it was a basic rectangle done in stockinette stitch, it still was a learning experience for me. I had to learn the tension that I liked as well as how to keep the yarn away from my kids. I also realized that I don't like this shape of a poncho on me. I'm definitely willing to try another poncho, but it will have more texture to it. It was done with a Paton's yarn, Divine. It is certainly very soft and fuzzy. I've been told that fringe is all it needs. Maybe I'll be getting to that now.

End of my rope today

and it's only 11am. Nathan hasn't slept well for his morning nap and I'm hoping he will be okay this afternoon. I think it is just because the office is a total disaster and I can't figure out how to clean it. I also have one photo order to proof and another to get ready for print. This will always be an ongoing task and I need to figure out how to manage my time better. Whewwwww!!! I feel better now, just needed to get that off my chest. We are going to draw and paint now.

Craft desk is half done

We decided that I needed an official craft desk/area to call my own. Up until now I have used a cabinet from here, a desk from there and everything was crammed underneath. When I wanted to scrapbook, I had to drag everything out to the kitchen table. My neighbor builds cabinets, so I took him up on his offer and we bartered. He built the lower part of the desk area and installed it this afternoon. it looks awesome. There are two file cabinets and a bookcase that faces out (with doors that can be locked). I don't have anything to put in the file cabinets yet, but I put all of my 8.5x11 paper in magazine holders in the bookcase part. I'm hoping that the upper cabinets get put in soon because all of my stuff is sitting onn the floor right now....

Anyways, here are two pictures.

the kitchen smells awesome

Today, I'm baking my first tart. We went last night and picked peaches to use for the thing. I normally don't have very good luck with crusts, but this things smells damn good. Hats off to Elisabet to letting me borrow this amazing cookbook, Once upon a Tart.
