Back in the swing of things

I can't believe it has almost been two weeks since I've posted. Not that I haven't thought about posting but life has just gotten inbetween everything else. I had two photoshoots, which I would love to show, but I forgot to bring along the model releases so I can't post any faces, which were of course the best parts. The PMS monster also got me really good this month. Seems that everything little thing that happened recently was not going to be positive. Of course life is all better, most things in life can be solved by a hefty dose of chocolate and caffeine, perferably together. Work this week was a little big crazy, poor store manager caught the barfing disease that has been going around. She thought she was going to be okay, but on Tuesday when she stumbled into the store, it was obvious it wasn't. I fumigated with Lysol after she left. So far so good, I figure I would have gotten it by now, seems to have taken about 2 days for subsequent spreading.

Here is a smattering of today's life, most of the photos are inspired by Nathan, who likes to leave me toy gifts all over the house.

cool skateboard toy that Jared was given from his friend at school.

Easter Eggs still on the kitchen table

Lace Leaf shawl that I just started, really like it so far, Koigu is my yarn of choice for this one

Okay, not so lonely computer since I'm obviously using it right now to post this.

Second post of the day - Springtime goodness

Nathan woke up from his nap and even though he was much like Oscar the Grouch, going outside put a big ole smile on his face. Here are some happy springtime images to brighten everyone up.

Just being cute, about the only smile I saw today

the two of them prior to an argument over who got to steer the playground

This is a Jasmine wall that we have in the side yard. It is about to explode with flowers and wonderful sweet smell.

these Lady Banks roses have totally taken off. This is their second year in our yard and they have gotten huge. this is just one bush, you can tell the size sorta since it is set between two of the pillars along the back wall. We have two others and they are just as big. these guys are awesome, they can live through the total sun summer, too bad they only bloom for a few weeks a year.

One cute little strawberry. This plant is in a pot so I can move it around the yard to make sure it doesn't burn up.

Getting ready for Passover

At this particular Fiori household we are getting ready for Passover (the first night is Monday night). Traditionally we would have a large seder with all of my family, but with our two monkeys (I mean beautiful boys) we have chosen to skip the first seder and opt for a different one this year. We are going over to a friends house for the second Seder on Tuesday. She has two boys the same ages as ours. We compare notes constantly, it seems we have twins separated at birth. Should make for a fun night indeed. So I went out this morning on a search for our Matzoh. I forgot to buy it last week when it was on sale at Safeway so I was prepared to cough it up today and pay full price. I went to Bashas and it was actually $7.88 for the 5 lb. box. Yippee. so excited. I'm splitting it with my mom and dad since for the last couple of years we haven't finished all 5 lbs anyways. Now back to the fun part of the trip, my children were absolute nightmares in the grocery store. Jared is jumping around like a bunny (yes, he knows all about Easter, we celebrate Easter with Nick's family) and then running away from me and Nathan is having a complete meltdown. I should have just left the store then, but I really wanted the Matzoh. I picked up some Manischewitz Blackberry to bring along to Jodi's house. Would it be bad of me to crack it open before the Seder? 11% alcohol by volume sure sounds great about now. Actually I need to crack it open anyways. I'm going to use some to make the Charoset. I'm also in charge of bringing the dessert, I'm probably going to do a Chocolate brownie and maybe an Apple Square thing. I found the recipes here.
