Legoland is Fun!!

On Tuesday, we drove from LA to Legoland, about an hour drive. Nick used Mapquest and requested the toll road route. It was well worth the $5 each way in order to escape probably a horrendous drive. Plus, it was really pretty to drive through the mountains.

Legoland was just perfect for Nathan and Jared, just the right ages to take them both. They both love Legos. I would definitely have to say it is their favorite toy right now. Jared is constantly building and rebuilding and Nathan is right there with him. The park is just the right size, not too big to overwhelm, not too small to be boring. Right now Jared wants nothing to do with rollercoasters after his experience on the Journey to Atlantis at Seaworld last summer. he just wasn't ready then and now we may have setbacks in rollercoaster riding for the next little while. Granted the rollercoasters at Legoland seemed pretty small compared to Seaworld, but still it was a no go. Jared says that his favorite part was the whole thing, nothing was singled out as the best, except for maybe getting to spend his birthday $$$ in the store at the end.

Here are some of the highlights from the excursion.

Reunited

We took our Spring Break trip this week to meet up with friends who moved to Cali last year. It was a short trip, but so awesome. Jared and S had been in preschool for two years together and really are great friends, they keep up on each via their crazy mothers. Deb and I hardly got to chat much, but it was so good to see each other as well. Here they are getting to see each for the first time in almost a year.

Jared turned six

Last weekend we had Jared's birthday parties, both with the friends and then a family party. I know, it has taken me a week to get these photos up for everyone to see, but it has been a bit crazy. It was Madi and Nathan's spring break so I had a few more kids in the house fulltime than I usually do.

We had the kids party at Chuck E. Cheese. It was Jared's first time there and he absolutely loved it. He has been asking to have his party there for the last few months so we knew it would be great.

We are leaving tomorrow on our mini family vacation in celebration of Jared's birthday and his spring break. We are going to visit friends in California and go to Legoland. We will be back late Wed night. I'm taking a pair of socks with me to work on, I'm doing two at a time using the Magic Loop method. this is my fourth and last try using the Wollmeise Flower Power. It has been a problem of concentration for me, I keep screwing up patterns and taking needles out. I absolutely love the yarn and the colors. This time I picked the YarnHarlot's recipe to make the socks, nice and simple stockinette.

Foo Fighters

I had this post ready to go on Monday, but I ended up closing out Firefox without actually pressing the Publish Post button. Silly me.

The concert was just amazing, Foo Fighters are an amazing rock band. This was the first time that I have seen the Foo Fighters, but I have seen Dave Grohl before, it was in 1991 with Nirvana. I can remember that show very well and I will remember this one the same way. Nick and I had a blast. We had suite tickets, which are totally the way to go, many thanks go out to Ken for this one. We enjoyed drinks and food on the house and the potty was just down the hallway, nice and peaceful (which is funny since we were at a concert to have a peaceful bathroom). LOL Foo Fighters got to play a ton of songs, both old and new and they had an amazing acoustic set as well.

My little camera is still in shop being worked on so I was only able to take photos from my phone. Here is one that I got of Nick and I and of the acoustic set. The rest of the photos that I got were way to blown out.

Next up will be Jared's birthday party pics from this upcoming weekend. Our kiddo is turning 6.
