Got a FO done from last year

When I started back up on this shawl the middle of April, I didn't realize how little knitting I still had left to do on it. If I would have realized that, I would have finished it last April instead of letting it languish in my dresser drawer. I just took out the blocking pins and brought it outside to photograph. I love the slightly overcast skies this afternoon. No crazy shadows.

Yarn: 3.5 skeins of Koigu KPPPM
Needles: Addi size 6
Pattern: Leaf Lace Shawl

Now what to start on next??? I could work on the Rogue sweater a bit more, or start on the May socks for SAM5KAL. I have no idea what yarn or pattern, need to look through my stash on Ravelry and see what jumps out at me.

His day off

Today, Jared had a Spring Day, just a totally random beautiful day off of school. He has been very excited about it. Nick stayed home with Lily and I took Nathan and Jared with me. After dropping off Nathan at school and staying for his show and tell and Jared saying hi to his friends that stayed to go to Kindergarten at the J, we went for breakfast. Joe's Farm just started serving breakfast and man was it tasty. Since we don't eat bacon, I had them substitute for fresh fruit with Jared's pancake. Super yummy strawberries and bananas with an equally yummy pancake. Jared inhaled everything. I had breakfast tacos, quite tasty as well. Him and I just got to talk about school and his friends and just enjoy each other's company without a little brother trying to steal the spotlight.

The start of some Jays

I started some Jaywalkers this past week. I'm doing them Toe Up, really like how they are turning out. They seem to be going a lot faster than my last pair of socks went for some reason. I think I'm going to finish one sock and then work on a long hibernating UFO (Unfinished Object). The Leaf Lace Shawl.

Yarn: Knitterly Things Vesper sock yarn, Hocus Pocus colorway
Needles: Knitpicks 2.5mm circs

And just to include a cute picture of Jared from this morning. I finally got a picture of him that wasn't so stoic. I need to wipe that cheesey grin off of his face. A bit of tickling did the trick.

I got an "A"

A for April, that is. I've been participating in the SockaMonth Knitalong. The only requirement was finishing a pair of socks a month. I failed. I started very industriously on February 1st, but I didn't like the pattern and after a few weeks of that, I decided to frog it and start over on something else. This time it was just plain stockinette socks. I think they didn't hold my interest very well, but I learned alot. I cast these on Two at a Time using Magic Loop. I got to the heel flaps and then did them separately. I finished one sock last week and the second one got done around 10pm last night. I wish I could have gotten them done in time to count for March, but at least they are done.
