This weekend

I splurged a little bit. I was looking at Cathy Z's blog and she was talking about iLife 06 and iWork 06. The reason why this all intruiged me is because she spoke about how iPhoto is now faster than fast. I went to Apple to check out their info and the new features to iPhoto sold me. I ordered it. I could have gone to the Apple Store but the Chandler Mall is nuts most of the time and I have no patience for it, especially since I'd probably be dragging around 1-3 kids, so I ordered it online. It will be here next week. Can't wait. I have over 7,000 photos in iPhoto and those are all pictures of us, I keep my client photos elsewhere.

Speaking of clients, I am photographing a newborn this morning at 11. She is one month old. I can't wait to get my hands on her. Newborns are so neat because you can put them in all sorts of funny positions but most are completely natural for them. They love curling up. If I get a Model Release signed I'll post a few of my favorites later today.

Thank you secret pal

I'm so bad. Bad photographer that is. I can't find my card reader. I took a picture of the goodies that my Secret Pal has bestowed on me, but for the time being, they are stuck in the camera. I have to find the reader by this weekend because I have a photo shoot scheduled for Sunday morning. Time to rummage and possibly clean up the office to find it.

Secret pal included a wonderfully large pink tote bag that can be used to carry my yarn stash around in, a ton of stitch markers (beautiful ones, I'm using one already for a baby hat I'm making), chocolate taffy (already eaten), pedicure stuff and a new tape measure. Good thing, because my oldest imp just recently broke mine.

P.s. for Secret Pal, be careful on the markers you use for the address, it had almost completely rubbed off by the time it got to me.

Thanks again, you made my day!!!!!

Basketcase

Nathan, not me. He thought it was just hilarious to put it on top of his head.

Jared wanted his picture taken as well, you may or may not be able to see Olympic hockey in the background.

Assorted crafts and stuff

I start off with a cute picture of all of my boys. Daddy was having a blast with the boys and they all wanted to hug on him.

I worked on the bear a lot last week and got her arm and one ear done. I haven't attached the ear yet so she still has an alien feel to her. I haven't fully decided if I'm going to make these for everyone or not. It wasn't as rewarding as it would need to be for me to make 4 more throughout the year. but I may change my mind, who knows.

Last night I scrapbooked with Andrea. I hadn't gotten together with her for a few months and we always have so much fun. Her patio home is so cute and we always share cooking duties. She made dinner, I brought over brownies. The recipe for the brownies came from the Martha Stewart Handbook. I've definitely made better brownies, but they were still good. Neither one of us turn down sweets. Here are the two layouts that I did.

This one is of my Great Aunt Corinne and my Grandma Mollie. Aunt Corinne was visiting from Florida/New Jersey in January and of course I had so fun taking pictures of the two of them. We also got a great group shot that I posted earlier. I scraplifted this idea from the March Creating Keepsakes, Fresh Face column.

I lovingly refer to this layout as Nascrap. I'm not a Nascar fan, but since Nick seems to think it is a good sport I go with the flow and used the pictures that he and his dad took to make this layout. Sorry, but I think this will be the only Nascar layout that you'll find in our scrapbooks.

Hope everyone is enjoying their week.

Happy Valentines Day

I can finally post this picture since all of the recipients have received their copies. I took these pictures of the boys last week and created a collage from them. Happy Valentine's Day from Jared and Nathan!!!

I'm still plugging away at the Bobbi bear. I'm not going to Coffee Rush today since it is Valentine's day and Nick is going to cook dinner and we are going to relax together. I'll be there on Thursday when Alison comes into town again.

Worm binder aka Circular needle case

I read about it on knitter's review two weeks ago and decided to take the plunge and get the worm binder from BassProShops
It is awesome. I got the 10x11 sized one since I knew I wanted to put DPN's in there as well. I haven't moved everything over yet, but I'm close, just need a bit more time in the day, yeah right.

Happy birthday Michael

Today my brother turns 28 years old. I can't believe that my little brother is already 28, that also means that I'm inching ever so closer to 31 the end of March. Michael has had his share of ups and downs but this year will be much different for him, we all feel that way. He knows that too. He is selling spas with my dad and doing really well at. Never would have that he was a salesman but it fits him well.

Here he is with his cake, Baskin Robbins log cake (mint chip ice cream, of course)

And with all of us together, Nick took the picture for us:

Saying Hi

Where did the last week go? I have no idea?? Nathan is on the mend, he had a bad stomach bug for almost a week and the last few days he has been an eating machine. Of course now he's got a cold, but it hasn't even phased him. I really can't wait for some rain around here. The crap in the air is killing us off. Jared and I both have bad allergies and they are getting us pretty good. We didn't actually go out at all yesterday. Our friends had a Super Bowl party, but Nick went and represented us. No need to bring a sneezing, coughing toddler over to someone's house. I was so wiped out yesterday after working the crop night on Saturday that as soon as the kids were in bed, I crawled into ours and went right to sleep. I guess that is why I'm updating my blog at 3am. Nathan just woke up for a cup of milk and I couldn't get back to sleep. I've already gotten 7.5 hours of sleep.

Since finishing the shrug I really haven't done much else. I worked on the Bobbi Bear with Elisabet. I showed her how to purl. I'm not a good teacher. I haven't been knitting for long enough to really fix too many mistakes, I hope all goes well for her. I'm done with both legs, now onto the next part, I think it is the head and then the arms are last. Maybe I can get it done in the next week or so. I'd like to start a new project for me, but then I'd get distracted and our friends twins would never get their bears. So much yarn, so little time. No matter how much I would have liked to have gone, I avoided Jessica Knits yesterday. It helped that she didn't open the store until noon and that was way to close to Nathan's nap time considering a 45 minute drive. The yarn for the bears wasn't going to be part of the sale, so I decided I really didn't need to screw up a nap. So far, I need two skeins of baby blue. The other two babies due in August the sex isn't know yet. I've got a while on those. The twins are the priority, then our next friends are due in June so I should have a lull for something summery in between.

Happy Monday!!!

Shrug is complete

The shrug didn't actually take me that long, probably about 6 hours total. I worked on it last night at Coffee Rush. I got all but one sleeve done, which I finished this morning. I needed some sleep or it would have been messed up. I used almost both balls of Rowan Polar on size 11's using an arm circumference of 11 as a gauge. I did make the sleeve a bit bigger though because I don't like sleeve that are tight. Sorry Sarah, I was going to use the pic that you took last night, but I liked the shrug so much better with the sleeves ribbed that I waited until I got home from work today to have Nick take a picture of me. Here is the shrug and a closeup.
