Smelly sheep

I never realized how much wet wool was going to smell. Poor Nick goes to take the laundry out and he gets this whiff of smelly sheep. It was too funny. I love my Booga Bag. It is so much fun and just the right size for all of my junk.

We also got a small pool for the backyard. It was only $35 at Target this week, such a deal for fun in sun. It is 8ft by 30 inches. Just right for the two of us and the kids. Here we are having a blast

The Incredibles

I throughly enjoyed this film. I seem to be a sucker for anything that Pixar puts out, but this was really good. We had gotten it from Blockbuster.com almost a week ago and finally had a chance to watch it. We wanted to watch it first to see if it was one that we wanted to purchase. Jared is definitely not old enough to see this yet, a tad bit too much violence, but Nick and I loved it. Of course the preview for CARS was on there. I can't wait for that one to come out next summer. Jared is a lover of anything with 4 wheels and his Nono is a NASCAR fanatic, so I'm sure he'll take Jared to see this. Nathan will be 2 next summer so it should be a hit with him as well.

I got some more knitting done while watching the movie, but you wouldn't be able to really tell, so I didn't take another picture.

1/2 way done

I figured I have about 20 rows or more left to go on the Booga Bag, then I have to do the i-cord. I don't think the size is going to be right on this bag, but then again, I like small bags, so it is perfectly fine with me.

Here is what it looks like so far:

I'm making it with Noro Kureyon, color 40. It is a beautiful mixture of blues, greens and a little browns through in for good measure.

Yarn purchases for the day

I think I just really wanted out today. I was even willing to take Nathan and Madi along for the ride. Nick was going to vacuum the house and they are both pretty scared of it, so it seemed like the right thing to do, hahahaha.

I "only" needed one skein of Cascade 220 to make a Sophie Bag from Black sheep bags. Yeah right. I got there and Madi proceeded to tell me what every color was and she was 100% right. She picked out the really pretty pink color, and I got myself the red and teal. As I walked a tad bit further into the store, there was a bargain bin staring at me. It was labeled $3 skeins. I found 6 hanks of Berrocco Glace in that bright blue color. I've got to call them back though and see if there was one that I missed because most of the patterns call for at least 7. Then the last thing that I got was the 3 skeins of SWTC Bamboo in Parrot. I saw on the Clapotisknitalong that one of the ladies had made one out of this yarn and it seemed really lightweight, perfect for AZ so I couldn't pass that up either.

Here is a picture of everything before it got hidden throughout the house.

Father's Day extravaganza

We headed over to Tony and Tanya's house for a Father's Day get together. Basically a wonderful swim party. I wasn't able to go swimming since I had a photo shoot that night and didn't want to smell like sunscreen, but the boys had a blast.

Here are both of the boys with their daddy. you can also see Uncle Tony hanging out under the waterfall in the background.

My photo shoot went really went, but I've barely even had a chance to look through the pictures yet.

some retail therapy

We went to Old Navy today for some retail therapy.

It was definitely nice to get out of the house. I already had my flag tee for this year, but the boys and daddy needed theirs.
Of course, there was very little behaving while we were in the store. Jared wanted to switch positions with Nathan about three times while we were there. Nathan was amused the first time around, but the other two times, he put up a ton of protest.

I also couldn't pass up getting them matching hats.

After we got home, they both took good naps, thankfully for mommy's sake.

The hat is finished.

I got the hat done from Jiffy Thick & Quick while the kids were napping. I tried it on Jared tonight and it should fit a small child. He has a big noggin so it will probably fit a larger child as well. My hands were aching a bit after finishing this hat. I don't know whether it was the yarn or the needles or the combination of the two, but it wasn't comfortable.

Now I can start wholeheartedly on the tank top.

Nathan cut a top tooth today, so he has a total of three teeth now. Hopefully he sleeps a bit better tonight because it came through. I have a ton of photo work to get done tonight so I can get orders in.

Long time since my last post

I can't believe how long it has been without a post. I feel my blog has succombed to my busy lifestyle. I was thinking this week was going to be relaxing, but all of a sudden it got very busy. I'm certainly not complaining. I need the work. I have two new clients this week, plus a proofing session and delivering some photos. I managed to squeeze in some time on Sunday to take pictures of the kids for Father's day. Sorry can't post the pics yet, it is a bit of a surpise.

Here are the boys eating some watermelon. They both thoroughly enjoyed it.

I went to the weekly Stitch n Bitch last night at Coffee Rush. I needed some help figuring out how to pick up stitches to work on the Booga Bag and Kim was a huge help. it ended up being way easier than I imagined and i steadily kept working for the next three hours. I was also working on a hat to give to Kelli for her trip to Mozambique. here is a smidget of it. It is going to be a very simple hat made out of Lionbrand thick and quick.

Pics for Grandma

Hi Grandma,

Here are the pictures that I emailed you about. The first one is the tank top that I'm making, I'm using Lamb's Pride Bulky superwash in a really pretty purple color. I should have the finished picture up later this weekend.

Knitting and Wine

Last night, SnB met at Red Kangaroo Wines. We all really enjoyed it. What could be better than having some wine while working on fiber arts. I only had one glass because I did have to make it home, but it would have been so easy to drink more. I got a sweet fruity wine which the only part of the name that I can remember is Frivolo.

I got about 5 inches done on the tank top front and this week I should be able to finish it completely. I think it may be short for me, but oh well, I'm going to wear it proudly as it is the first true garment that I've finished.

It is a brand new day and the kids are still sleeping so I can actually read the paper so bye bye for now.
