Our Bathroom is DONE!!

We are so freakin excited about this. Mark is coming over today to grout and that is it, all of the tiling is done. It looks amazing. Mark did our bathroom when we had the patio home and he is a friend of my dad's. I think he did this job as a favor because he has been painting a lot lately (artistic) and I know he wants to work on that aspect. Of course I doubt most people would turn down the opportunity to make some quick $$$.

Here is a picture of it this morning. I used the flash because now that the bathroom is also repainted, it is a bit darker in there (nice for us in the morning)

Good morning, Nathan

We are nighttime potty training with both of the boys. For the last week, Nathan has woken up dry. I am very excited about his as GoodNights pullups(pullups for big kids) are pricey. Of course since I was putting Nathan in undies last night, Jared wanted to give it a go also. He has always been such a sound sleeper that this hasn't worked for us. Last night though, he got up in the middle of the night and went to the bathroom, first time in his 6 years. LOL!! We are using some super strength waterproof pads on their beds. I ordered them from an assisted living store online. They were bigger(3x3) and cheaper($10) than the ones made for kids.

Yesterday, I blew up the pool. It is a tiny pool, not very much water being wasted using this one, perfect for a not so damn hot afternoon. It really wasn't bad out yesterday, about 105 in the afternoon. I sat on the patio and watched them, but then they were squirting me with the water guns so I got in. That is when they ganged up on me. I was wetter than they were. Sorry no pictures of that little tidbit.

Knitting, yeah I have been doing that as well. I'm working on the kangaroo pocket on Rogue. I got some hints from the Rogue Ravelry group on how to do the pocket. I couldn't quite understand the directions, I followed some advice and doubleknitted the pocket on. It worked out awesome, now when I go back to knitting the body the pocket will be even at the bottom since I don't have to pick up stitches.

And I'm working on a baby blanket for my neighbor Stephanie. I'm using a pattern from Natural Knits for Babies and Moms. Using two skeins of Blue Sky Alpacas Organic Cotton in Willow. I'm about 1/2 way done. It is the project that I bring with me to swim lessons every day. Her shower is August 2nd. It will be done by then.

TFL!!

Finished a cowl

Why I needed a cowl in the summer?? Because I thought that our little Flagstaff trip may have required one. It was beautiful up there, low 50's in the morning. I did finish the cowl on the drive up. It was the perfect mindless knit. Also perfect project for bringing to Stitch n Bitch. So much bitchin going on that it is hard to focus on knitting. I have screwed up many a project in between laughing my butt off. So now I have something ready to wear for those early morning winter soccer games that the boys will be a part of.

Pattern: Gloria Cowl
Yarn: Plucky Knitter merino fingering in Best Friends
Needle: size 8, 20" inch circular (Addi)

Totally love it

Flagstaff trip

On Monday we left for a quickie little vacation. We stayed over one night at Little America and got out of the nasty nasty heat. It was the perfect getaway. Not as long as we would have liked, but it was sandwiched inbetween Nathan's party and his birthday and halfway in the summer before school starts back up again. This post is pretty picture heavy. My parents stayed up there in Flagstaff as well and there was only one room separating ours and theirs. The boys spent most of their time running back and forth between the two rooms. It was hilarious and reminds me so much of my childhood.

Happy Birthday from Chuck E.

Nathan picked Chuck E Cheese as his birthday locale for this year. When Jared turned 4 we let him pick as well, so it was only fair. Being that Nathan has a summer birthday, it is a bit easier on us. Nathan gets to pick the friends he wants to invite and we don't have to invite the whole preschool class. Not that that was bad with Jared, I made amazing friends by inviting the whole class and getting to meet the parents. So Chuck E Cheese it was, Sunday mornings at 11 are an awesome time. We basically had the whole place to ourselves. Nathan had a great time. He was a little nervous about everyone making a stink for him, but he really did enjoy himself. Here are a few photos of his party.
